Gallery of the Louvre
The Terra Foundation for American Art’s Gallery of the Louvre painting went on a world-wide tour, being placed on exhibit in many major art institutions globally. Coinciding with this, they wanted a digital experience to help promote it online and expand its audience beyond museum walls.
They approached me to develop an immersive web site that could help bring the viewer virtual closer to this “artwork of artworks.” In collaboration with their Director of Marketing & Communications, we arrived at an experience that would allow a web visitor to zoom in so close to the artwork that they could see the brush strokes on the canvas’ fibers. And so we set out to produce a one-off microsite experience that allowed online audiences to experience art at this scale.
This web experience was a one-off commission, but ultimately led to the larger Artnav platform initiative.
